Olympus Printer

Which photo printer should I buy?

I'm looking to buy a photo printer to print digital photos from my DSLR camera and digital art I create. I want to say price isn't an issue, I just want the very best thing out there. However I'm aware that often with gadgets like this the best thing out there isn't the newest item and may be a little cheaper. I'm looking for something that can print flawless brilliant prints of my photos and artwork at the largest format. Thanks. John.

  1. Check out Popular Photography/American Photo for tests and reviews: http://www.popphoto.com/photoprinters/ From this page, you will find a few links that are of interest to you: "Super Printer Shootout" "Editors Choice 2006: Wide Format Printers" "Editors Choice 2006: Fine Art Printers" More third party opinion, but not updated very recently: http://www.steves-digicams.com/printers.html Look down the column for "maximum paper size" and you'll find only a few that go larger than 8½x11.
  2. Check out the webpagesx for Epson and Lexmark... they both make the best in quality injet printing. The best method is not injet, but dye-sublimation. You will need to research on the web to find the best printer and price.
  3. I have an Epson R2400. I love the printer. It has a 13" wide paper feed so I can do large prints. It is an 8 color printer so all the colors look better. The 2 downsides- it is $850 and the ink is harder to find(there is only one store in my area that sells the ink for this printer).
  4. Epson pro 4800, is what i use, great prints, fast, input for sheet and roll film.
