Can you only print photos using a photo printer?

I know you can go to the store and buy photo paper to print out pictures yourself- but does that mean that you specifically need a photo printer?

1. no....my sister has a regular dell printer with Scanner, printing, fax.......she prints photos and uses photo printing paper to do it...
2. What? You can buy photo paper and put it into a regular printer...
3. All printers will print photos. Some are just better at it than others as they have higher resolutions. The higher the resolution the better the print.
4. No.....however the resulting photos are not going to be excellent quality. If thats ok with you any color or black and white printer will do. Photo printers are designed to blend inks better and have finer control over placement of color so the result is a clean photo finish.
5. No you don't have to have a photo printer just a print with a med to high dpi range to print on photo paper for best results . hope this helps
6. they sell special photo ink so your pics come out better quality than with just regular color ink
