- The post office will do the photo, paperwork for your passport.
- *Some* CVS Pharmacies have a photo lab where there are several digital kiosks that are not connected to thermal printers, in other words, they are sent to the actual photo machine. This is a good alternative to the "print in seconds" type machines, that print faster, but have lesser quality than the actual machine. Most stores will take a few pictures until you find one suitable and with the digital machines, the picture can be corrected to fix problems like, being too dark, red eye, off color skin etc. I previously worked for a CVS Pharmacy that the most passport photos in the state (like 75% higher volume than any other store in the area), so basically we averaged about 8 each day, or 1 per hour of the store being open. I can only think of one instance where one of our passport photos was rejected, and honestly it was problem due to either someone at the passport office being really picky or just an error on our part. Either way, a CVS with a competent photo staff can take good, acceptable passport photos. It doesn't matter if its printed from a thermal machine or a lab, the most important factors are the positioning of the head in the picture, entirely white background and no shadows in the picture. Good luck!
