How can I get my Canon Zoombrowser program to accept videos taken by an Olympus FE290 camera? (still pics OK) Even though the manual for both cameras say that videos are .avi files, the Zoombrowser is able to manage the videos for the Canon camera but does not seem to recognize the videos in the Olympus so they do not download to the PC. Still pictures are no problem at all.

Help with Olympus digital camera? I have an Olympus Camedia C-4000 digital camera.I'm trying to take closeup photos of some jewelry.When I set the camera to macro mode,the manual says that I can get within a few inches of the subject.Whenever I get that close,there is a big dark shadow on the lower left side of the photo.If I back off a little,the shadow disappears.I really need to get closer.There is nothing in the way when I shoot up close.Any ideas?

olympus camera- Date not showing up on prints or on camera before shooting picture.? The date setting on my new Olympus FE-230 camera is not working. I have set it according to the directions in manual. I took it back to store and the man that sold it to me tried to set it and it did not work. Reliable, cheap, compact 35mm camera with manual controls.? I'm in the market for a a new 35mm camera for street photography and general snapshots. It has to be small, either fixed or interchangeable lenses (i don't mind) and fairly cheap (£50 is my maximum). I'm currently using an Olympus Trip 35 but i don't like the fact that i can't control the shutter the speed and that there is only two to start with. A Leica is out of the question but thats the sort of size i'm after. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Problem with Manual Camera? For my Photo101 class, we have to do all our projects with a 35mm manual camera. I`m borriwng my mom`s old camera, which is an Olympus. Sorta looks like this one, maybe a different version but they`re quite similar looking. http://www.governmentauctions.org/uploaded_images/olympus-783295.JPG Anyway, the first roll I took came out fine. The 2nd roll I just loaded, and the little knob is turning and the dial is at 'S' (for 'start'). I took 2 pictures to get it up to '1' on the dial. But there`s something I must be forgetting because on the inside of the viewfinder, those little symbols are not glowing at all. It`s usually a little + and a - symbol that glow green or red depending on my light meter. But i`ve taken 3 more pictures already and they still haven`t glowed. They were glowing/working just fine for my 1st roll so...maybe the film isn`t loaded correctly? Or some knob/dial is not closed all the way? Is there something I need to do to activate those light meter symbols? (btw, she lost the user manual after she graduated college and moved here to NJ. I would`ve looked through the manual before asking this had she kept it) the camera is OM2000 Spot Metering.

How do you set the date & time on a Olympus camera? We have an Olympus C-740 Ultra Zoom camera. We cannot get the date & time set to where it shows on the actual picture. We have messed with it until we get so aggravated it isn't even funny. Does anyone have the same camera & can you tell me how to get the date to show up on the pictures? And yes, we have the date set, and have read the manual, but cannot get it ON the picture. Thank you for your help! How do I turn off the display info on the playback mode on my Olympus camera? I just bought a new Olympus FE 280 camera. So far, I like it, but there is one thing that is driving me crazy... when I go to flip through my pictures in playback mode, the white writing of the picture specifications are all over the screen (which is annoying when you just want to look at your pictures and don't care about what ISO level it was at when it was taken). How do I turn this off? I can't figure it out and I can't see anything about it in the manual. Am I stuck with this?

olympus camera question? a week or so ago i bought olympus e-420 with the 14-42 lens. It took me 2-3 days to learn the manuals etc. since it is my first DSLR, but it is still a little hard for me to remember a lot of things. I bought a photography book to ... the one from National Geographic. But today i searched around google for some comments about e-420 ... a lot of them were like "this camera is only for beginners" "it doesn't have stabilizer = it's not good" "e-420 is not a pro camera ... it's just toy" etc. etc. and i was a bit disappointed. I really want to reach pro level in photography, but i don't think I'll be able to buy other camera after this one .... is e-420 just for beginners or you can make pro pics with it?

olympus digital camera problems? OK so my camera use to hold up to 200 photos and have about 41 or 44 minutes. I broke it by accident and when I got it back weeks later it now only holds 23 photos, i.e i can take only 23 photos and have a video that is 21 seconds long. please help with any problem!?!? Turning off the display on an Olympus camera? I just got an Olympus FE-280, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn the LCD screen off when I don't need it. I read the manual briefly but I didn't see a solution, and I assume that it's a common button shared by many Olympus cameras. So please! How do you turn off the display in between shots? Best digital camera with manual controls (DSLR?) for a beginner and information on using a manual camera? I have been taking photos for years with a nice point and shoot. I think I have developed a good eye for content, but it is time to actually have good equipment to go with it. There is only so far PhotoShop can take you if the original is not high quality. My point and shoots are a Minolta Dimage Z2 and a Olympus Stylus 770Sw for underwater. I have a few lenses for the Dimage that have helped, but I think I am ready for the next level. I need advice on two things 1) Best entry level manual control digital camera - possibly a DSLR - at the best price for what you get (prefer under $1000 if possible) 2) Best book and/or other information about f stops, exposure, etc. that you need to know for using these types of cameras.

What's wrong with my Olympus digital camera? ? I have an Olympus, Camedia, C-350 Zoom. I haven't used it for a while and it worked OK before. I charged up the batteries and when I flick the front off the Zoom lens, as you're supposed to open it, instead of the zoom coming out and the camera working, the green light flashes next to the part you look through and the zoom part goes in and out a few times, then goes in again and the camera stops working. It does that when the batteries are low, but the red and green light flashes, but the batteries are charged and it's just the green light now. It works OK when I close the front and view my old pictures at the back screen. I keep trying to flick open the front if it's the way I opened it, but it just does the same thing. I lost the manual. After the zoom goes in and out a few times and the green light flashes, when the zoom goes in and it stops working, the red light flashes at the end. I know it isn't the battery, as the red and green light flash at the same time for that. If it needs fixing, where can you get cameras fixed?

When a window is in the shot, sometimes my Olympus C7000Z Camera makes a tiny bit of white noise and shows...? ...only the scene outside the window. I looked through the manual and there is no mention of such a feature. I *think* it only happens when I'm using manual focus... Is this normal? Can I turn it off? Can you give me _any_ information pertaining to it?

Anyone have the Olympus Stylus 500 digital camera? I can't figure out how to index the frames from a video I I want to save one of the frames as a picture. Some other cameras have the index option...I am new to this camera and can't find it. I also searched the online manual and can't find anything about it. Is this even possible? Olympus Digital Camera SP-550UZ? I bought this camera and I am trying how to get the date to come on the picture. I really like my dates right on the picture. It says in the manual that you can tell the camera to put the date on when the picture is printed. However I can't tell if that applies to when you order your pics online IE:Kodak Gallery. I don't want to play too much w/the camera as I bought it at Sams and they will let you return it w/out a stocking fee. Does anyone have this camera and is it possilbe to have printed pictures w/the date on it eith printed from home or an online company If so, how? Thanks so much in advance for any help.
